KWA Mk II 1911
Hey guys. I brought my 1911 to Broken Home and test fired it before deploying. I never used it in the field and then it sat in Twitch's garage for 2 1/2 months. I cleaned it today and went to test fire it and nothing. There is gas in the magazine, at least enough to release when I depressurize, but it just goes click when I pull the trigger. Any thoughts?

Did it even release gas when you pulled the trigger?

My KWA 1911 had this exact same problem. I sent it in to KWA and they fixed it, but about two weeks later it broke again. Do you have the aftermarket metal outer barrel? I think this what is causing the problem. The stock outer barrel is plastic, all KWA pistols come with a plastic outer barrel and are not made to handle a metal one.

I took a look at it and diagnosed the problem. The striker which depresses the gas release on the magazine has a problem.
There is a small spring which is supposed to hold it in a lowered position to correctly align the depressor upon the hammer dropping. With the spring being broken, it allows this part to move into an elevated position which in-turn causes the magazine not to release gas when the hammer drops.
We manually moved it into the correct placement and this temporarily fixed the issue, but ultimately the spring will need to be replaced. It looks very similar to an anti-reversal spring on a V2 box (but smaller.)
