Camo the Army is Considering.
The Army is replacing its current uniforms with a new pattern. They have announced it will start being fielded in 2014. There are a couple contenders to win the contract. ADS, Brookwood Companies, Crye Precision, and Kryptec
I wasn't able to find pictures for the submissions by Cyre or Brookwood.
Here are ADS and Kryptec. What do you guys think?

ADS looks like it would be amazing for our summer months. I'd have to see the Kryptec stuff in action to judge it.

I keep thinking Kryptics looks like something straight out of a video game
Re: Camo the Army is Considering.
Kryptec certainly is a unique pattern. I am surprise ATACS isn't bidding. It will be interesting to see what they decide to go with.

I believe A-TACS (Digital Concealment Systems) did make a proposal and were eliminated from moving on to the next phase.

That would make sense.

Looks a lot like Marine woodland digi.
I used Marine woodland digi back on Oahu and it was great.

whew, careful making that statement to a Marine... Other than the color itself, the pattern is quite different than MARPAT. : )TheRedThreat wrote:Looks a lot like Marine woodland digi.

Really to me, the MARPAT woodland, desert, and the ACU all look like the same pattern with different colors.
Personally I think they work great... Just makes me wonder why the military sees it necessary to constantly blow through money changing uniforms, and having to pay for contracts, tests, etc... and then re-fielding a buttload of equipment in the new pattern. Seems fiscally irresponsible.

Those look like marpat and woodland digital. Neither of which are the new proposed pattern as shown in post 1. ; )
Twitch, I wholeheartedly agree with you.

Re: Camo the Army is Considering.
I have to sadly say that ADS and Kryptec really needs to work on their pattern. (I apologize to those who are offended by this)ACU was not exactly the best of patterns and these two are no better. I have a feeling that if Crye submits their AOR1/AOR2 (AOR1 is currently fielded by Navy Seals) to the army, it'll probably win out. It's very similar to Marpat patterns currently in use (desert and woodland) but in my opinion does a slightly better job at concealment. I especially don't like that Kryptec stuff, reminds me of that ugly thing they call Realtree.

Also... found this. Makes me wonder why the price difference between ACU and the MARPAT variants.
