Pump Action Shotgun Discussion (UTG 870 Special Ops)

I am considering buying the UTG 870 special ops, and i was wondering if the internals are easilty upgradable? I keep trying to look online for specs or manuals and it is impossible. Please Help.

Look for reinforced internals and read up on what options are available for an extended tight Bore barrel covered by a silencer, plus stronger spring. Don't over do it on power it the internals can't take it. The other guys would know better than I about what to get and where to get it. I have heard that the UTG 870 can be a bit of a pain to fiddle with, of course people said the same thing about the m324 but I have never had any issues working on them either. I would be more than happy to give you a hand with up grading whatever on it. I have some of my own techniques for reinforcing internals that I have found to be inexpensive and quite effective. the UTG 870 is a HUGE pain to fiddle with internally. many of the peices tying the frame and internals together are small, breakable plastic. taking one apart is a great way to get a nice shotgun shaped paperweight.

there's a reason they only cost $40 or less across the internets.... in airsoft, you get what you pay for, and if you buy cheap, you buy twice.
these particular guns are not made to upgrade. in fact, most spring guns (with a few notable exceptions) aren't.

Agreed, however, just because something is a pain in the @$$ to do doesn't mean it isn't worth doing.
Granted if you can find one, the CA870 would be a MUCH better choice. But, my inner mad scientist wants to work on one just to say I have, and improved it. I'm kinda kooky like that.

i feel you there. i just hate the thought of bricking a gun that 1: would have been just fine if i left it alone, and 2: i hadn't spent good money on, ya know?

Oh yeah I smell what you're stepping in there. But sometimes the cheapos are the best learning tools for developing skills as an "Airsmith"
