Boneyard Experiment
Hey folks!
I just wanted to let you all know I have embarked on my first boneyard gun adventure. I just picked up a JG SIG 552 of of evike's boneyard. As some of you may know, I have been looking into picking up a SIG, so when I saw that on the boneyard for $75 I couldn't say no. However, I am still fairly inexperienced in gun repair, so if anyone is interested in helping me out on this project I will not be opposed! I will let you all know what state it is in when it arrives.
Anyone else bought a boneyard gun, how bad can it be?
Thanks all! See you on Sunday I hope!

If you have it by the 4th, bring it to the skirmish and all us in the Brigade who know guns can start looking it over for you

Re: Boneyard Experiment
so. got the sig today.
As expected, it does not fire. the gearbox makes an... interesting sound. kind of like the gears were turning inside without catching anything. Chance was elbow deep in gears and springs and whatnot. it is unclear what is wrong. Nothing appears to be damaged. I wouldn't know if anything that should be there isn't. We are putting everything back together and seeing if anything has changed. unlikely. but we will see. some other miscellaneous things wrong with it:
Loose weights in the stock rattle (fixed)
barrel stuck in the upper receiver...
Flash hider very secure (and very orange)
battery compartment unfathomably small (i have no idea what can fit in there, but definitely nothing I own)
Should be a fun project. We will see...

Chatting with you, it sounds like a lot of the problems are solved... Regarding the flash-hider, I have some black spray paint to fix that. Typically its in my box-o-stuff, just hit me up at a game if you want it to be black.
