list of recommended AEG upgrades? Empty list of recommended AEG upgrades?

Post by Aldolass December 16th 2015, 22:49

Hey guys. I am getting into airsoft rapidly now and was hoping anyone could give me a good list of upgrades for my gun?

I have a Elite Force M4 4CRS that is internally stock and i want to soup it out. I do not have much of a budget so please give me a top notch list! Thank you.

The Elite Force 4CRS is a pretty good gun as it sits.  I am a firm believer in the philosophy that if it isn't broken, don't fix it, especially when it comes to the internals.  Screwing with the internals on a perfectly functioning gun can at times lead to unexpected problems and failures, especially if things are not put back together correctly.

If you are looking to accessorize the rails and such, well that's a different story, the M4 is essentially a man's Barbie Doll.  There are so many different things that you can do.

As you've applied to the Brigade, I would recommend before purchasing, check out some of our equipment for ideas.  This will afford you the chance to see things first hand and decide for yourself if it's something you want or not.

A lot of us use a vertical foregrip, as well as some type of optic.  Usually an un-magnified (1x) red dot.  There are just tons and tons of options out there for these, so again, check some things out before you decide to buy.

This is very true, but it rests at more of a CQB Rifle rather than a field rifle. I want to get a better pull on its overall distance and maybe get something along the lines of 400-450FPS. I know a good tightbore barrel does wonders, but i like Teching and getting new pistons, gearings, a high torque motor,  and maybe a M160 Spring (along that line) The RPS on the gun is good, but a bit of a BB Hose for my liking. It's around 30RPS on a 11.1 LiPo.

With springs, the M number is the projected meters-per-second +/- 5%.

To convert, take the number and multiply it by 3.28 to get FPS.

So, an M160 would throw about 525 FPS.  (160*3.28 = 524.8)

Keep it below 400 FPS with a .20 if you want to be able to use the rifle at most venues.  At most the rifle will not be permitted on the field if you are shooting at a higher velocity than this, unless it is a sniper platform (such as a bolt action, and even those are usually limited to 500 FPS or below.)

For a rifleman platform like this, you would want to stay with an M120 or lower.

A tight bore can help, as can an extended barrel.  Some use a longer inner barrel and a mock suppressor on the end to contain the protruding barrel.

Get use to firing on semi-auto, rule sets for the reputable ops will require you to fire semi-auto only if you are a rifleman (which this weapon would be classified as).  Only Squad Automatic Weapons, like an M249, are permitted to fire full-auto.

Adjustments I am a fan of are putting in a slient piston head combined with a silent cylinder head.  For me it's not about the noise, it's about the extra cushioning that they offer when they impact each other placing lower strain on my gearbox.
