Tactics... What do you do when you play?
So, just wanted to get a feeling for some of the good and bad experiences people have had with different tactics.
What happened, and why do you think it happened that way? What would you have done differently?

Re: Tactics... What do you do when you play?
I'll start with a good experience, it was at the skirmish on the 17th of April. The game was an assault and defend, the object was to either eliminate the defenders, or hit the structure with a "satchel charge".
I had the charge, and when we started, we instinctively flanked to either side. There were 5 of us, 3 armed with AEG's and Myself and another with spring shotguns. The 3 with AEG's swung to the left flank, and the 2 of us, worked up a ways and came down on the right hand side, which was mostly unprotected. It was nearly a classic pincer movement, and after the end of it we had destroyed the objective.
Now, what would I have done differently? for one thing, I think I would have liked to have one of the AEG's with me, but it really didn't matter. It was a great way to split their attention, all the AEG fire on one side while we slid in quietly on the opposite side. If I was in their shoes against the same tactic, I would have been sure to have a staggered defensive line instead of globing on one side, it would have made a huge difference if we had to deal with even just one more defender on the side we came down on. All in all though, it was a great game.

Re: Tactics... What do you do when you play?
I have been in some very poor tactical situations. One in particular comes to mind. I was on a 5 man fireteam with several other fairly new players (I also was/am newbie-ish). Our objective was to capture a flag in the center of the field and return it to our respawn. We decided to press straight forward until contact and then flank to the weak side. Sounded good, sure... I was on the far left of the line when we made contact. Within moments I was completely alone. Instead of engaging from cover in a spaced-out line. I found cover and began engaging while the rest of my team all tried to charge forward. Needless to say one man was not able to supress many and my team was quickly overcome followed swiftly by myself.
It was fairly amusing just how quickly we were all cut down. Perhaps it could have been much more effective to all find comer and move up a little more carefully. At least it was a good learning experience...

Well put Shifty. We are going to be holding some tactical classes, tactics are great when you and your teammates are on the same page. Sometimes shit hits the fan, and your planned tactics are out the window, and thats when you depend on a strong squad leader to come up with a plan b

I think between the two of us we could put on a pretty good tactical class.

Flashbang? Singular? Why use one when you can use two for twice the price. (Government 101)

Well, I have yet to learn that particular lesson. Until I do, I will volunteer for darn near anything.

If KP means Kitchen Patrol, then no there IS KP in Airsoft, at least if I go over to peoples houses and they are nice enough to cook for me, I usually volunteer to help clean up after. So, dinner meetings for the Brigade, I'll be helping cleaning dishes and the table after we eat, out of courtesy.

And police call, yeah no, none of that. Lol.

I would follow you, my captain, to the very end. To the very fires of Mordor.
But seriously, well stated. I have noticed how effective afression can be but my own limited experience has almost always been with unknown, new players who do not know how to work together or follow a charge.
Can't wait to play with fearlessness!
